Clenbuterol is also known to increase strength and the staying power of muscles by allowing easy passage of oxygen into cells.
Clenbuterol is shown to exhibit anabolic activities, based on animal studies. A review published in the August 1995 issue of Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise states that the possible anabolic activities in humans are very questionable, and based only on animal data using much larger doses than would be required for bronchodilation. This debate continues today, with many still using clenbuterol as a potential anabolic boost.

A study carried on a person with Chronic Heart Failure sighted an increase in muscle mass, concurrently decreasing in fat mass, administering clenbuterol with a dosage of 80mcg daily. There was a significant increase in energy, compared to placebo. A study also indicated that an increase in lean mass without improvement in cardiac function indicates either a worsening or a counterpoise in cardiac performance.It was also noted that 60% of the patients on clenbuterol had muscle cramps and tremors.
One study on swine noted an increase in the size of muscle fiber cells as well with clenbuterol administration. Although not yet confirmed, it is implied to contribute to lowering the white blood cell count, it has been shown to have significant redistributive effects on white blood cell count.
Clenbuterol is approved for use in some countries, free or via prescription, as a bronchodilator for asthma patients. While in the USA, Clenbuterol is not an ingredient of any therapeutic drug approved by the USFood and Drug Administration and is now banned forinternational Olympic committee tested athletes.In the US, administration of clenbuterol on animals to be used as food for human consumption is prohibited by the FDA.
